Financial Peace Is EVERYWHERE

So it seems that ever since I have been working for Dave Ramsey, everywhere I go Dave Ramsey seems to follow. Everywhere I go, I meet people that are working the Dave's Plan. It's really great to know that Dave's stuff is really circulating.

I was sitting in my Financial Planning class the other day when my teacherannounced that Dave Ramsey was going to donate Financial Peace curriculum to our school. I was so excited! I never really thought that Dave's material would actually show up at my school, nonetheless, I thought it was great! What better way to rid our society of debt; go after the young. The next generation. Many people talk about how they wish they knew all of this stuff when they were younger, I bet they wished they had a school that taught Financial Peace curriculum.

Then later that day, when I got to my economics class, we were told that wewere going to have to choose an outside reading book. BLAH!, I thought,. Butthen he told us what book it was. Ya, you guessed it … Financial Peace
by Dave Ramsey! It was interesting to see that some kids already knew about the book, but most didn't. Seeing as I work for Dave Ramsey and was required to read most of the books to work here, I was happy.

But I was more happy that my friends would be able to experience the book aswell, and hopefully even go home and share what they have learned! Overall itwas a good day!

P.S. GO IHS!

Financial Peace Graduation!

It has been really interesting how things have turned out. About 13 weeks ago, my parents started this "Dave Ramsey" class. The class was going to be every Monday from 7-8:30ish. They asked me if I wanted to be in the class and, to be honest, back then it was the last thing I wanted to do. Then a week later, as you know, I got my job at Dave Ramsey working with the Online Web site My Total Money Makeover. I learned a lot about money, debt and credit. I also learned about this Financial Peace Universitystop being normal and get out of debt!

Well two days ago (Monday) my parents graduated from FPU and I was told by the FPU coordinator that if I wanted to come, I could. And of course I wanted to see my parents go through the last class and receive their certificates. After the class was over, the coordinator asked each couple what they had learned during this course. This was when it hit me. Even after hearing countless calls on the radio, reading countless posts on the My Total Money Makeover Community Forums about people being in debt, working Dave's plan and getting real results, there was nothing more convincing than sitting in a room with 10 or 15 couples (grown adults) talk about problems that they had with money and how Dave's plan was really working for them. Couples talked about how the class not only helped them with their money problems, but also helped them with communication. It was truly amazing to see. Real life. Real pPeople. Real results. Dave's message gave hope to people, and you could tell by the way they spoke.

I think this hit me because I am glad to know that I do work that matters. I do work that matters. Debt can be one of the most stressful things a person can deal with, and it's good to know that there is an institution out there fighting every day for people just like you and me, and revealing to them the truth about debt.

I am fortunate to be as young as I am. I can start the plan early by saving, investing and giving. And before you know it, I will be a millionaire.

Wendy's & Credit

So the new Wendy's store opened in Bear Creek, Columbia last week. I worked the opening day. Everything seemed to work pretty well, except for one little problem … the credit card machines did not work!!! Not a big deal for some; but for others, this little "problem" determined whether or not they were going to enjoy a delicious meal.

Since I have been doing an internship for the last couple months with Dave Ramsey's working with the My Total Money Makeover Web site, I have learned that credit and debt are BAD with a capital B! So this little "problem" brought a smile to my face. That was just the opposite for many customers. In a way, I laughed to myself every time someone had to drive away, or walk out of the restaurant ... just because they didn't have the cash to pay for fast food! Makes you wonder what other things they charge if they can’t even pay cash for Wendy's.

Don't these people know that using credit and acquiring debt is NOT the only choice?! I can tell you that they WOULD know if they were following Dave’s Plan. A plan that teaches you basic principals like living on less than you make (a.k.a. having a budget), saving for the future, building wealth and giving to others. I don’t know about other people, but I know what my plans are; I will be rich, I will Change My Family Tree, and by living like no one else now, I will live like no one else later.
